A Wayward Tree Frog
Once upon a time, there were two frogs: a mammy tree frog and a son tree frog. The son never listened to his mother. She said, "Son, there are many fierce animals in the upper field, so play in the lower field. However he didn't listen to her and played at the upper field. The son frog was annoyed at his mother because she always worried about him. "Why doesn't he listen to me? He never minds me." said the mammy frog. The mammy frog was sad because the son frog was always up to some mischief. He grumbled, "She is always scolding me."
One day, mammy said, "Son, when you are croaking wrong. Say 'Croak, Croak." He was annoyed and said, 'Kaorc, Kaorc'. She listened to his croaking and became angry. She said, "Don't do that; please listen to me."
But, he never listened to her. She said, "I will get sick because of you."
One day, she really did get sick. "Son, I'll die soon." she said. "Don't worry about me; I can live alone." the son said. "Yeah, all right!" she said.
"Then, when I die, don't bury me on a mountain; instead bury me at a
riverside."
She made that request because he always did the opposite of what she said.
After that, the mammy frog died. The son frog cried sadly and said, "Oh my! My mammy died because of me." He regretted his behavior as soon as she died. He was crying and then he thought about her will. "Yes! I didn't listen to her frog said.
So, the son frog buried her on a riverside. One day later, it was rainy. The son frog worried about his mammy's tomb at the riverside. He said, "Oh my! What can I do? Her tomb will wash away because of the rain!"
After that, whenever it was rainy, he always went to her tomb and looked
after the tomb. He was scared that it would wash away and cried sadly,
"Croak, Croak, Croak." So, if it is the rainy season, many tree frogs cry on a riverside even now.
